The Production Ecosystems Programme was established under Resolution No. 57/NQ-HĐT issued by the Chairman of the University Council of Can Tho University on 14 July 2025. The Programme brings together a team of highly experienced academics, including three Associate Professors and five Doctors from diverse disciplinary backgrounds, forming a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary teaching and research team.

The Programme is responsible for education, scientific research, and technology transfer in the fields of agricultural production, sustainable development, and climate change adaptation.

Training

The Programme is responsible for the Master's programme in Agricultural Systems and collaborates in the delivery of the Master's and Doctoral programmes managed by the Mekong Institute.

Research Areas

(1) Breeding, developing, and promoting climate-resilient rice varieties;

(2) Applying sustainable, ecological, organic, and low-emission farming practices;

(3) Enhancing climate change adaptation capacity from the community level to regional and national levels;

(4) Promoting the efficient management of water resources;

(5) Participating in Can Tho University's leading research groups.

In addition to scientific research and technology transfer, the Programme places increasing emphasis on publishing research outputs, registering plant variety protection, and securing patent rights.
